If you sign up for my SEO or Local SEO services, I’m going to ask you for a few things:

Questionnaire

My questionnaire will make sure I have all the info about your business that I need to get started improving your rankings. It ensures that I have the basics right and lets me learn more about your business, to help make sure you get the most bang for your buck and that I don’t have to keep calling you with questions.

Keyword feedback

I’ll come up with a recommended keyword list, but I’ll need you to review it and make sure it meshes with your knowledge of your business and your market opportunities.

Verification

For local businesses with a physical storefront, I’ll likely be spending a lot of time getting your Google+ Local page up, and verifying other citation listings like Yahoo, Bing, Yelp, YellowPages.com, Localeze and others. These are incredibly important for your rankings, but most require that you verify that you are indeed the owner. Typically this involves a postcard or letter with a PIN sent to your business address. You’ll need to email me the PIN when you receive it (or enter it on their website yourself). It’s pretty simple and a good safeguard to keep others from messing with your listing.
